“Building on the Diwata Heritage: Microsat RISING-4 Results and the HOKUSHIN-1 CubeSat Mission”

Together with the Philippine Space Agency, the Institute is inviting everyone to a talk this coming January 22, 2026, from 10-11AM at Room 120, EEEI Building.

Come listen to Prof. Yuji Sakamoto, Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the School of Engineering, Tohoku University, as he talks about “Building on the Diwata Heritage: Microsat RISING-4 Results and the HOKUSHIN-1 CubeSat Mission.”

This lecture presents the design, development, and mission outcomes of RISING-4, which inherited key technologies and concepts from the DIWATA-1 and DIWATA-2 satellites. It will also introduce the upcoming 3U CubeSat mission, HOKUSHIN-1, scheduled for launch in 2026, highlighting its objectives and advancements in small satellite systems.
