With the ongoing pandemic\, the world has been facing unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety\, and music therapy has emerged as a promising way to address these issues. The power of music therapy has been explored in improving mental health\, reducing stress\, and enhancing overall well-being\, particularly during these challenging times.\n\nThere are various programs that have been implemented in the Philippines to leverage the use of music therapy for autistic patients. Several private organizations and music therapy centers in the Philippines offer music therapy services for individuals with autism. These centers use various music-based interventions\, such as improvisation\, songwriting\, and listening activities\, to enhance communication\, emotional expression\, and social interaction skills in autistic individuals.\n\nIn this episode of STOP C.O.V.I.D. DEATHS\, we will have presentations from music-for-health practitioners. Moreover\, we will address a specific aspect of music therapy – its value for autistic patients\, especially young adults. Autistic individuals often experience challenges in communication and social interaction\, and research has shown that music therapy can be a useful intervention for improving these skills. We will delve into the evidence supporting the use of music therapy for autistic individuals and provide insights on how it can be tailored to meet their unique needs.\n\nThe main presenter will be Ma. Solinda Garcia-Bautista\, Faculty of the College of Music and Performing Arts at St. Paul University Manila. A reaction will be given by Jenny V. Tapales\, Founding Director for Ed Link Foundation and Faculty of the Educational Leadership and Management Department at De La Salle University. The Synthesis and Closing Remarks will be delivered by Dr. Stella Marie L.
