Mapping the ocean environment through acoustics: Field data of the RV Thompson TN 447 Cruise

The UP Marine Science Institute invites everyone to a public seminar about our most recent expedition. Chief Scientist Dr. Fernando Siringan and Dr. Charina Lyn Amedo-Repollo will discuss field data from the December 2025 expedition to the Sulu Sea, Celebes Sea, and Philippine Sea. This was a joint expedition with the University of California – Santa Cruz aboard the deep ocean research vessel RV Thomas G. Thompson, mainly focused on capturing geological and oceanographic data.

“Mapping the ocean environment through acoustics: Field data of the RV Thompson TN 447 Cruise” will be held on February 3, 2026 at the MSI AVR, Edgardo D. Gomez Hall. This seminar will not have a hybrid component.
